What is Fera?

‘Fera’ represents everything that is wild and remains untamed. In our country at present, this special trait has dwindled to a few remaining pockets where the land still remains wild and untouched by the demands of a growing economy. We at Tiger Watch, Ranthambhore [an NGO working under the guidance of Mr.Fateh Singh Rathore] have and still strive in our continuous efforts to preserve the virtue of such pockets that now lie precariously at the threat of many perils that may irreplaceably devastate such assets forever.

About Tiger Watch

Tiger Watch is an NGO that operates in Ranthambhore, Rajasthan. Fateh Singh Rathore, the renowned Tiger Man of India, is the Vice-Chairman of Tiger Watch. The NGO has, for the last 6 years, made immense progress in terms of the kind of work it does. From exposing Ranthambhore’s 2nd Tiger crisis, and bringing to the notice of the country that 18 Tigers in Ranthambhore were missing, Tiger Watch picked up pace, experience, and the unstoppable drive to work. Now amongst our enterprise such as anti-poaching measures is also a series of other activities including working with the local Moghiya Community and Gharial Conservation which are enlisted as our prime motives.

However one of our greatest challenges is the generation of a vital monetary prerequisite that is highly essential to continue our efforts that transform funds into real time, active conservation endeavors. Hence we request your support towards a fund-raiser we are organizing, ‘FERA-October 2009’, in order to raise funds to sustain our projects that revolve primarily around the conservation of Tigers and Gharials along with an array of habitats they share with many other species of flora and fauna in the Ranthambhore Tiger Reserve and National Chambal Sanctuary. Our endeavors further extend to curbing the poaching of wildlife along with prevention of future incidents by betterment of standards of living for local tribal communities that may otherwise take to poaching as a means of earning a decent living.

Today we see a rapid decline in the number of species and the potential occurrence of a complete extinction is a dreadfully real prospect. Therefore Tiger Watch strives to the maximum in preventing such a situation and we seek your aid in preserving the wild in its most natural state.

How Can YOU Contribute?

  • Donating a certain amount for our fund-raiser-FERA, can bring you with it, several benefits for you.
  • Sponsoring a Moghiya child’s education,
  • Sponsoring any of Tiger Watch’s ongoing programs (as mentioned above), or
  • Volunteering for our various projects.

Our current venture is ‘Fera’, the fund raiser for which we seek your help. The funds donated for this purpose will be utilized for the various expenses involved in organizing the events as well as for the future projects of Tiger Watch. Our main fund raiser activity includes the following events:

* Photography Exhibitions and sales of the same.

* Art [paintings, sketches] Exhibitions and sales of the same.

* Moghiya handicrafts sale.

* Donation campaigns - with donation boxes at schools and also by appeal for donations or sponsors via various media including radio channels and TV news channels.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR TWO TYPES OF FUNDING –

2) DIRECT funding for the projects. [Considered as a ‘donation’, NOT sponsorship]
